The 2021 Mashpee Town Fireworks display was in honor of our Past President and Producer, Jim Vaccaro.
Through the generous donation of the Mashpee Pops, the Mashpee Town Fireworks display was enhanced.
We would like to celebrate all the contributions Jim made to Mashpee and the life on the Cape we all love.
It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we share with you the sad news that our friend Jim Vacarro passed away suddenly on March 15, 2020.
He was perhaps best known for his extensive involvement in civic, community and philanthropic affairs. His pride and joy was Mashpee Night at the Pops, involved from its inception, he became its President and later its executive producer, and help grow the event to become, for 20 years, the biggest night of the year in Mashpee. At the final Pops event in 2011, his colleagues honored him by being Guest Conductor of the Symphony which he described as being the longest two minutes of his life.
For 20 years Mashpee Commons was the gracious host to Mashpee Night at the Pops.
Our 2011 event was the last time this venue was available, and so we bid a fond farewell
to all our friends at Mashpee Commons and thank all concerned for their 20 years of
hospitality.
Mashpee Pops will stay active, sponsoring and producing a variety of other events celebrating and showcasing the arts in Mashpee
and promoting a strong sense of community spirit. What else this will include, is still a work in progress….stay tuned!
